Chapter 2329: Scarcity in the North I

"Do you mean to say that whoever is controlling those monsters are also doing something to them that makes them have the ability to steal natural energy?" Frey asked.

"I am not certain as this might just be a coincidence. If this place gets raided again and I am here to observe it, then I will be able to be sure. Until then, the only thing that we can do is improve the missing areas where natural energy was stolen." Len Cloud stated.

"That is fine. Please restore the soil back to what it was once. There are also other places that were raided near here and we will need to move there to check as well." Frey stated.

Levin Cloud and the wood elves easily solved the problems with the soil as they merely patched up the lacking natural energy with the ones freely floating in the air. They basically injected the mana in the air and led it towards the soil to nourish it. Levin Cloud even sealed it with a prayer and the Vanir gods answered in kind. The soil is blessed once again to ensure that no natural energy would leave in numerous amounts.

Just as Levin Cloud and the wood elves were finished with their sacred ritual to restore the soil's natural energy, a loud scream could be heard from the snow-covered forest from the distance. The scream of a woman and a man could be heard as they suddenly came out of the snow-covered forest. At first, they thought that they were screaming for joy that they were out and could return to the village but the snow on top of the trees rumbled.

The snow on top of the trees vibrated and fell to the ground as it created a small ice mist which covered the incoming disaster. The couple that was running for their lives are in panic because of a sudden monster horde from behind them. They were running for their lives while lightly clothed which already answers why they were in that forest to begin with.

"Wow! I knew you were powerful, but I did not think you are this powerful." Frey stated as she was shocked that Levin Cloud could easily do this despite being a pure healer.

"We do not fight near forests which is why he mostly heals us but if the battlefield is a forest, then even our guild leader will have difficult beating him. A forest is basically the domain of Forest Guardians like him. They can control the entire forest which means you are not safe as long as you are inside one." Peridot stated.

Levin Cloud is connected to every root that he controls that also includes the ones he is using for attacks. He observed that the monsters rushing forward are all malnourished. The muscles of these monsters are barely developed as they have already atrophied. They do not even have the spark of light in their eyes, and they are basically charging at the fields for survival.

"It would have been understandable if they were only hungry but there is a sinister force at play as well." Levin Cloud stated as he observed something from the monsters.

The monsters are like in a state of madness and that they are only moving because this weird energy that he could sense is making them to. Levin Cloud could feel this energy as it was somewhat the same as what one of those dryads that he learns from uses. All the monsters in this horde were being compelled by a power similar to the natural power of Persuasion.

"Start killing them now. They are all flooding the large vine fence that I made. Soon enough, they will climb across the dead bodies of the other monsters." Levin Cloud stated but he soon saw something gory.

The monsters that were squished and killed from the impact of hitting the large vine wall are now being devoured by the other monsters. As if their instinct to survive led them to eat the freshly killed monsters in front of them. Even monsters that are labeled as herbivores are now eating the meat of other monsters because of their starved situation.
