Chapter 35 Who is that man?
Chapter 35 Who is that man?
"Elvis, do you really not want me anymore?" Anna looked at the unfamiliar man in front of her with a bewildered expression.
At Lanzhou's airport, people come and go, but they seem to be isolated in another world.
Fu Shileng's gaze was chillingly indifferent. He didn't speak, but simply turned his back to her.
Anna's tears streamed down her face uncontrollably. Her lips trembled, and her voice was filled with desperate sobs: "Elvis, I know I was wrong. I shouldn't have forced you to get married..."
However, Fu Shileng remained silent.
Anna suddenly spoke up: "Elvis, I'm pregnant, it's your child..."
These words were like a thunderclap, shattering the silence.
Fu Shileng's body trembled slightly, but he did not turn around. He just stood there quietly, as if time had frozen.
Anna stroked her belly, her eyes gleaming with a mixture of hope and fear: "I know we have many problems, but this child is innocent, it needs its father..."
She choked back tears as she continued, "Elvis, let's start over, okay? I'll change. I'll try my best to be a good wife and a good mother..."
Fu Shileng finally turned around slowly, his eyes revealing a complex emotion.
But he still coldly said, "Get rid of it."
These three words were like three sharp blades, piercing Anna's heart.
Her eyes widened, her face filled with disbelief as she stared at Fu Shileng: "No! Elvis, how could you be so cruel? This is our child! Your own flesh and blood!"
Fu Shileng's expression remained cold and ruthless: "I've said it before, I won't want this child."
After saying that, he turned and left, leaving Anna alone to cry.
Watching his departing figure, she thought, "Fu Shiling, how could you be so cruel..."
In the end, she didn't board the flight back to Australia, and she didn't leave Lanzhou...
Fu Shiling sat in the car, the interior filled with smoke. He stared blankly out the window, a cigarette between his fingers, his eyes deep and cold. After finishing one cigarette, he didn't calm down; instead, he took another one from the pack. With a slight shake, half of the cigarette emerged from the pack. He skillfully held the cigarette in his mouth and lit it.
The pale blue flame from the lighter danced on his handsome face.
His deep-set eyes narrowed slightly as he habitually did so. As the fire went out, he casually removed the cigarette from his lips, exhaling a thick plume of white smoke that slowly rose, hazily enveloping his cool, aloof face.
This indicates his inner turmoil and anxiety.
He had loved Anna, but now he couldn't give her the life she wanted. He was an illegitimate child, and he couldn't let his child be born an illegitimate child, facing abandonment and a difficult life.
I'm sorry, Anna...
"I'm very happy to have reached a cooperative relationship with you, Tang Zhou. Next, we're going to have some fun with Fu Shiyue. Are you suddenly interested?" Fu Shiling's lips curled into a sinister smile, and his eyes flashed with a cunning light, as if he couldn't wait to start this game.
Tang Zhou frowned slightly, feeling puzzled and uneasy. He couldn't help but ask, "President Fu, I don't understand. You both have the surname Fu, you're brothers, why did you turn against each other?" When facing him, Tang Zhou clearly felt that Fu Shiling gave him the impression of being ruthless, the kind of ruthlessness that sent chills down one's spine.
A fleeting hint of anger crossed Fu Shiling's face, but he quickly regained his composure.
He said coldly, "In this world, there is no eternal kinship, only eternal interests. I have my ambitions, and you have your purposes. I think that's enough." He looked at him and continued, "Besides, this is my family matter and has nothing to do with you. You just need to do as I say, and don't ask any other questions." After saying that, he turned and left the room, leaving Tang Zhou alone there in deep thought.
Tang Zhou knew he couldn't press the matter any further. He understood that Fu Shiling undoubtedly had a hidden past and secrets. Now, he could only choose to trust Fu Shiling and cooperate with him to complete this plan. He knew that if he succeeded, he would reap enormous benefits and rewards. Thinking this, Tang Zhou took a deep breath and secretly resolved to do everything in his power to achieve this goal.
Xie Zhiyi, dressed in an elegant business suit, walked briskly on her way to meet a client. Her eyes were focused and determined, and she held a folder in her hand, exuding a professional aura.
Just then, she unexpectedly encountered a man.
He was tall and slender, with a cold and aloof demeanor and deep, piercing eyes like cold stars; he was none other than Fu Shiling.
"Excuse me, sir, could you please move aside? I'm in a hurry," Xie Zhiyi said anxiously. However, Fu Shiling ignored her request and just looked at her coldly.
Xie Zhiyi frowned and repeated impatiently, "Sir, could you please move aside? I really have an urgent matter!"
Fu Shiling's lips curled up slightly, revealing a faint smile, her tone tinged with a hint of teasing: "You must be Xie Zhiyi from DW, President Xie?"
Xie Zhiyi looked puzzled and asked, "Do you know me?"
Fu Shiling smiled and introduced herself, "I'm Eivis, the person you're meeting today." She then extended her right hand to shake hers.
Only then did she realize that the man in front of her was the one she was supposed to meet today.
"Excuse me, let's find a coffee shop and sit down to talk now."
They were sitting in a coffee shop in the mall.
They sat facing each other like that, and the waiter brought two Americanos.
Since he sat down, his gaze had never left her.
"Can we begin our discussion?" Xie Zhiyi asked unhurriedly. Fu Shiling's lips curled slightly, and he readily replied, "Of course." He leaned back in his chair with a relaxed air, propping his head up with one hand, his eyes filled with a hint of mockery as he openly sized up Xie Zhiyi sitting opposite him, and said softly, "President Xie is indeed beautiful and capable. I wonder if she's already taken?" His words carried a touch of teasing.
Xie Zhiyi tried to focus on the project, but Fu Shiling's gaze made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.
He would interrupt her from time to time, asking questions that were unrelated to the project but seemed to have ulterior motives, leaving her feeling confused and embarrassed.
His eyes held an indescribable ambiguity, as if he hadn't come to discuss a project, but rather to see her.
Despite her efforts to remain professional, Fu Shiling's behavior increasingly convinced her that his interest in the project was not so simple, and she began to think about how to deal with this situation without affecting the project's progress.
“We’re here to discuss business today. If it’s not work-related, I think we can work together again another time.” She prepared to get up and leave, but he stopped her.
"Please pay attention, sir."
Her implication was that if you weren't there to discuss serious matters, then there was no point in cooperating.
"Hey, don't go! I just wanted to test your professionalism, but now it seems we can start talking formally." He quickly blocked Xie Zhiyi's way when he saw him about to leave and explained.
However, Xie Zhiyi did not stop, but continued walking forward. Seeing this, he anxiously tugged at her sleeve and said, "President Xie, please wait!"
She stopped and turned to look at Fu Shiling coldly, a hint of displeasure flashing in her eyes.
Xie Zhiyi frowned slightly upon hearing his words and asked, "Is this your company's way of negotiating? Using such methods to test the other party?"
“That’s right, that’s exactly how we are,” he said calmly.
Then, Xie Zhiyi paused for a moment, and said coldly, "I'm sorry, but we won't give a second chance to people or companies that aren't serious about their work. It's pointless to talk; it'll only waste both of our time." With that, she turned to leave.
Fu Shiling realized he might have messed up the negotiation, so he quickly chased after Xie Zhiyi and stopped him.
"I apologize for my behavior just now. Actually, I value this project very much, and I hope we can have the opportunity to cooperate."
Xie Zhiyi stopped and looked at him, her tone still cold: "I accept your apology, but I need to think about the cooperation further."
Fu Shiling was somewhat disappointed, but he still tried to appear sincere: "I understand, Mr. Xie. If you have any questions or need to learn more about our company, please feel free to contact me anytime." He then took out his business card.
The business card reads: Wanshen Group, Eivis
Xie Zhiyi glanced at the business card in her hand, then turned and left. Fu Shiling watched her departing figure. Fu Shiyue's women are quite interesting...
Night fell quietly, and Xie Zhiyi dragged her tired body home.
Pushing open the door, she found the house quiet, save for the dim light from the living room casting a warm glow. Her gaze traveled through the entryway and landed on Fu Shiyue, who was sitting on the living room sofa.
His figure was somewhat blurred in the dim light, but his deep posture was particularly striking. His legs were crossed, his arms hung naturally at his sides, and his fingers tapped lightly on the sofa armrests, as if he were waiting for something.
She walked up to him, and when she saw his serious and deep face, a strange emotion welled up in her heart. His expression did not change at all, making it impossible to guess what he was feeling at that moment.
She stood before him, and silence filled the space between them.
Xie Zhiyi spoke softly, breaking the silence: "What's wrong?"
He looked up, his eyes sharp as he looked at her, a cold smile playing on his lips. His voice was deep and magnetic: "Who did you see today? Who was that man?"
After speaking, he frowned slightly, stood up, and slowly approached her. His tall figure exuded an invisible pressure that was impossible to ignore. Every step he took was firm and resolute, as if he wanted to reveal the whole truth.
She involuntarily took a step back, a sense of unease rising within her. His gaze was like two sharp swords, piercing straight into the depths of her heart, leaving her feeling there was nowhere to escape.
However, she still forced herself to remain calm, straightened her back, and met his gaze.
He walked up to her, stopped, and stood only centimeters apart. He looked down at her, his eyes flashing with anger. She could feel his warm breath on her face.
"Fu Shiyue, did you have someone follow me?"
"Stalking? Is that such a harsh way to put it?"
His eyes darkened, his gaze becoming deep and unfathomable. He gave a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth, his voice turning cold: "Who did you go to see?"
Seeing her silence, Fu Shiyue laughed, his laughter tinged with self-mockery and helplessness: "Even if you don't say it, I know that you went to see Fu Shiling, isn't that... he is my younger brother."
Xie Zhiyi stared at Fu Shiyue in shock, a surge of indescribable emotion welling up inside her. The news was too sudden for her to accept for a moment.
"What did you say?" Xie Zhiyi murmured, her eyes wide as she stared at Fu Shiyue in disbelief, as if trying to find a trace of a joke on his face. But Fu Shiyue's expression was unusually serious, showing no sign of joking.
"Are you... really brothers?" Xie Zhiyi asked softly, her gaze fixed on Fu Shiyue.
Fu Shiyue nodded slightly, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes: "Yes...we are half-brothers."
She bit her lip, her heart filled with doubt and confusion. She didn't know how to face this sudden truth; she hadn't expected that Eivis was Fu Shiyue's younger brother.
Fu Shiyue seemed to sense her confusion and said, "I hope you don't get too close to him; he has a lot on his mind..."
"Since you are half-brothers, why haven't you lived together all these years?"
Fu Shiyue sighed and said slowly, "This involves a lot of family disputes and past grievances. But no matter what, I hope to protect you and not let these things affect you."
Xie Zhiyi nodded.
