Chapter 5 [Moon]
Chapter 5 [Moon]
When my fingers touched the tree, I felt energy enter my body, and the weakness I had felt began to dissipate.
Thump—thump~
My heart started pounding.
Immediately afterwards, a burning pain emanated from my heart, as if my body was being swallowed up.
"Ah!" I tried to make a sound, to scream in pain, but my mouth was blocked by a familiar liquid.
Pain tormented my body, overwhelming my senses. Each heartbeat felt like a hammer pounding into my chest, as if trying to shatter me from within. My vision began to blur, and the world around me spun in a blur of light and darkness.
"Forehead!"
I tried to scream, but the sound caught in my throat. The pain intensified, becoming unbearable until it completely engulfed me. Darkness closed in on me, and I could no longer resist; I lost consciousness. I collapsed to the ground.
"I......"
As I lost consciousness, the last thing I heard was a faint, ethereal voice echoing in my mind. However, in my agony, I couldn't make out what the voice was saying.
......
As Morse lay unconscious on the ground, a mysterious change began to occur. An ethereal white light enveloped him, radiating a mesmerizing glow.
The surrounding environment also began to react to this special energy, as if acknowledging the awakening of a hidden power.
In this radiant scene, the necklace around Morse's neck shimmered with a green glow. The necklace was crescent-shaped and sparkled.
The ethereal green light emanating from the necklace slowly flowed toward Morse's heart.
Immediately afterwards, Morse slowly opened his eyes, revealing an unusual white light deep within them.
“Brother…” A girl’s ethereal voice echoed around, indicating that the person inside her was no longer Morse.
"You've found the medium... We can finally become one..." As the ethereal voice echoed, the green light in Morse's eyes slowly faded, and his eyes turned pure silver. Behind him, the silhouette of a girl appeared.
“My essence, my magic will become your power, brother.” The girl, in her intangible form, extended her magical hand to Morse, weaving an intricate pattern of mystical magic. Her magic flowed into Morse’s unconscious body, merging seamlessly with his.
“I am with you, brother, I will always be with you.” Her dreamy hands caressed Morse’s cheeks, her gentle voice echoing in his ears.
The green light on the necklace grew stronger, radiating an extraordinary glow as her magic unfolded. Her ethereal hands moved gracefully, drawing intricate patterns in the air as she infused her magical essence into Morse's body.
"Awaken magic from the sun and fire, infuse my soul with blazing light, grant me indomitable courage, drive away darkness, and protect the light."
The girl whispered an ancient incantation, her hands moving gracefully as she commanded the magic surrounding Morse to flow into his body.
Light intertwined to form intricate patterns, creating ethereal runes imbued with ancient magic. These adorned Morse's limbs, etching delicate designs onto his skin like tattoos of his power. Light flowed through his body, forming patterns of the future.
“Find the moonstone, brother.” Her voice echoed in my ears, full of guidance. “Never forget where we came from…”
As she finished speaking, a single tear fell onto Morse's face, her figure gradually blurring, transforming into a faint, ethereal light that flew into the necklace.
In the end, the necklace, along with the pattern on Morse's body, disappeared.
......
"Hmph." Feeling the pain in my head, I woke up with a muffled groan.
Although I could feel a strange sense of refreshment all over my body, my whole body was aching slightly.
The tree that once radiated an ancient glow has disappeared, replaced by an old tree that looks withered and dead.
"What happened?" I muttered to myself as I stood up. "And what about the pain that attacked me?" I tried to make sense of what was happening to me, but I just couldn't figure it out.
"In the game's storyline, this item should make the user feel comfortable." I thought to myself as I stretched.
Although I feel refreshed now, the pain lingers in my mind. The more I think about it, the more questions arise. "Perhaps I can find the answer in the status window."
With that in mind, I opened the status window.

When the panel appeared in front of me, I immediately saw the changes in my attributes.
My talent cap also jumped from level 4 to level 6, which shows how effective the Life Essence is for my body.
However, there was one more thing that caught my attention.
"Hidden trait awakened?" I asked myself, completely baffled. "Why? Just because I used the Essence of Life?"
I don't know the answer to this question; all I know is that I've unlocked a new feature.

Looking at the description panel in front of me, my mind was filled with confusion and questions.
"'Moon'? This is the first time I've ever heard of it." Because this game is an RPG with a vast world, players can acquire different types of traits and special abilities, resulting in some differences.
Therefore, I know many characteristics, and I recall who possesses this ability.
'Moon' describes the ability to utilize the moon's power, granting it enhanced abilities and effects—a power that is almost nonexistent.
"I remember there was only one character in the game who possessed this ability." As I recalled, an image of someone wielding a sharp blade came to mind.
"In any case, I am grateful for this experience. I know that I still need to accumulate more strength in the future."
I looked up at the sunset and thought to myself, "It seems I slept all night. Now I need to get back to the academy as soon as possible."
In the game, things weren't like that. Now that I think about it, I basically slept in the forest all night without anyone protecting me, which was quite dangerous.
Before the sky was swallowed by darkness, I returned to the academy, pondering what had happened.
Because Morse couldn't use magic before, I don't know how to use magic now either.
I reached out and gave it a try. A tingling sensation of magical energy shot through my fingertips. I took a deep breath and guided my thoughts to manipulate the magic in response.
Unexpectedly, the magic obeyed my commands effortlessly, like a river flowing through a familiar stream. It responded to my commands, displaying a soft, shimmering light that danced in my palm.
Although it was just a simple release and perception of magic, it was a novel experience for me.
