Chapter 28 The Most Dangerous War Game in History
Chapter 28 The Most Dangerous War Game in History
Orario, Tower of Babel.
The gathering place of the gods was on the thirtieth floor of the Tower of Babel. This floor had no other areas; it was a spacious hall with rows of thick, long columns supporting the towering ceiling.
The spacious room features only a large round table in the center, surrounded by huge glass walls and shrouded in mist, resembling a palace in the sky.
The gods of Orario have gathered together.
In the War Game, two clans fight under the rules set by the gods.
The Astrea Familia versus the Rudra Familia of the Dark Faction thrilled these amusement-loving gods, their faces beaming with anticipation.
Justice versus darkness and evil!
Many gods also stared at the brown-skinned male god with hostile eyes.
Rudra, the god of the dark faction.
Two years ago, during the great struggle, many of their gods were almost sent to heaven. They had no good feelings towards these evil gods who loved chaos and death.
"How ironic that I was able to enter the Divine Assembly!" Lou Tuo Luo sneered. As a god of the dark faction, he was not on the same side as the gods who were willing to abide by order, and had never set foot here before.
No deity would welcome Rudra.
"I am Ganesha—"
Seeing the awkward atmosphere, the burly god wearing an elephant mask rushed out and shouted loudly.
"Haha, Ganesha, you're still as cheerful and optimistic as ever," Rudra laughed. As a fellow deity from the Indian tradition, he naturally recognized Ganesha.
In India, Ganesha is known as the god of wisdom and the god of overcoming obstacles. He symbolizes good fortune and success and is one of the most popular deities in India.
And Rudra is an evil god who enjoys chaos.
"Rudra, what are you planning to do this time?" Ganesha raised his head and looked at the other person seriously.
The gods looked surprised; this was the first time they had ever seen such a serious god as Ganesha.
"Don't get me wrong, this time it was that woman who caused me trouble." Lou Tuoluo shrugged.
Ganesha fell silent. His kin's children were his friends, and he had a good relationship with Astraea. Yet, it was his fellow countrymen who had committed such an evil deed.
"Stop with the nonsense and just announce the rules of the war game!"
"I took my pants off, and this is what you show me?"
"That's right, that's right!"
……
Many gods grumbled, but there was nothing they could do.
The war game is played between the Astrea Familia and the Rudra Familia. The rules must be agreed upon by both parties for the game to continue. In special circumstances, with the approval of all the gods, a lottery will be chosen.
Astrea and Rudra exchanged a glance. They had already discussed the rules of the war game in private; this was just a formality.
"The rules of war games are—"
"Challenge the Dungeon!"
Astraea and Rudra said in unison.
As soon as he finished speaking, the entire spacious hall fell into a deathly silence, where even the sound of breathing could be clearly heard.
Loki, sitting in the back row, leaned against the chair, her hands behind her head, her eyes slightly open and narrowed. Her guess was correct; they really dared to play like this!
Considering the conflict between the two clans, many gods had already realized something, and one male god still asked, "What does 'challenge the dungeon' mean?"
"It means exactly what it says!"
A sinister smile crept across Rudra's face. "Two familiars enter the dungeon. The familiar that reaches the deeper floor within the time limit wins!"
Upon hearing this, even a fool would understand: is the dungeon a place for playing games?
This is not a game, it's a bloodbath!
Many gods were sweating profusely. Was this some kind of game? Both sides were aiming to annihilate each other's entire race!
Ordinary war games are just games after all, and no one will die. The two sides are using the name of war games to settle past grievances in the dungeon!
"Does the guild agree?"
"Ahem!"
The wronged Remer, who had been sent over, stood to the side and almost choked on his own saliva. "The guild is investigating the dungeon tremors from a few days ago and has already ordered the Ganesha Familia to seal off the entrance. The two Familias can enter, but the guild will not be responsible for them."
The dungeon entrance is in a "exit only" state.
Under normal circumstances, adventurers would probably be furious. They make a living by hunting monsters and exchanging magic stones for money, but the recent dungeon anomaly led directly to the surface, and the monsters' attributes increased by one level.
It scared everyone, and many people were injured. The willingness to enter the dungeon has been very low these past few days.
The opposition was not as strong as expected.
The Astrea Familia and the Rudra Familia are also unable to enter the dungeon in advance to cause any trouble.
"Since neither side has any objections, then it's settled. The rules of the war game are 'Challenge the Dungeon,' and the clan that enters the deeper floors wins!"
As for the rewards, there's no need to even mention them.
The victor has the power to control everything the loser has, including plundering assets, disbanding families, banishing gods, and even sending them back to the heavens!
……
When Roy opened his eyes again, he saw an unfamiliar white ceiling, but the surroundings were familiar. He was lying on his large bed. This was the Garden of Stars!
"hiss!"
Roy tried to move slightly, but a sharp pain shot through his body, causing him to gasp in shock.
Having taken the brunt of a bomb, three bottles of low-grade potion were clearly insufficient to heal his injuries. His body felt as if it were about to fall apart, but amidst the pain, a warm sensation surged through his body, helping to alleviate the agony.
"Are you awake?"
A blonde, pointed-eared elf girl entered the room, her sky-blue eyes fixed on him. "Which dangerous secret realm did you run off to this time? You've gotten yourself into this state."
A hint of weariness flashed in the elven girl's eyes. She had found Roy severely injured in the courtyard and had used "Noah's Healing" countless times to bring him back to life.
Roy forced a smile. "It's the same old story; plans never keep up with changes..."
Ryu sighed helplessly, unable to resist complaining, "You've encountered just too many 'changes'."
Roy chuckled sheepishly. Although he encountered unexpected events every day, sometimes he deliberately sought out thrills. He changed the subject, "Where's the goddess Astraea?"
Mentioning this, Ryu immediately perked up, "Attending the Divine Assembly at the Tower of Babel, the War Games are here!"
Roy looked out the window at the tall tower in the distance; it seemed his plan was progressing smoothly and steadily.
"It's remarkable that you could refrain from taking action." Roy looked at Ryu, who clearly wanted nothing more than to grind all the members of the Dark Faction to dust, yet he held back when protecting the goddess Astraea and meeting with the god Rudra.
Ryugin gritted his teeth. "If we acted then, we could only kill two people at most. That wouldn't be enough, absolutely not enough!"
Even if we capture Rudra, what good will it do if Goddess Astraea sends him back to heaven?
The Rudraksha clan converted to the service of another evil god and continued to wreak havoc in the world.
As Roy said, if you're going to do it, do it thoroughly, wipe out the kin, and return them to the gods!
