Chapter 36 School
Chapter 36 School
Before Li Wei even opened his eyes, the noise of the crowd reached his ears, though it was somewhat distant.
Li Wei just wanted the world to be a little more lively, otherwise he would have to go back to his black uncle to withdraw money, but this time he would go to Haiti.
Opening his eyes, Li Wei found himself in an empty and spacious room. It was a modern house made of concrete, and there were traces of fire inside. In the distance outside the window was a forest.
Li Wei took off his armor, changed his clothes, and went outside. He found himself in a long corridor, with empty doors leading to rooms furnished the same as the one he had come from.
An abandoned school? But the voices coming from the building next door were mostly young people. Li Wei stroked his chin. Interesting. An abandoned school in the forest, and a new school has been built next to it. What kind of horror movie setup is this?
Upon reaching the first floor, he found the stairwell blocked by a roller shutter, so he went back to the second floor, flipped over, and jumped down.
After jumping down, Li Wei paused slightly and glanced back before walking straight towards the place where the noise was deafening. A dozen meters behind him, by a flower bed overgrown with wild grass, a person was hiding, their eyes filled with tears as they curiously stared at him.
But when he went outside, he found that the signs were all about everyday life, but the sight of the schoolgirls in their short skirts showing off their shiny thighs made Li Wei raise an eyebrow.
The vibe of youth, Uncle Li Wei, is my favorite.
However, while eating ice cream, Li Wei didn't forget his purpose. He grabbed a boy who was walking in a hurry and asked him how to get to the gate.
When they got to the front door, they found that it was an electric door and it was closed.
I asked the gatekeeper to open the gate, but the old gatekeeper said...
"You came to apply for the job on the bus, right? Didn't they tell you that this is a boarding school, and you either have to travel with the bus or wait until school lets out on Fridays?"
"When does that bus leave?"
"When school ends."
It was as if he hadn't said anything at all. He glanced at the clock hanging in the guardhouse; it was only a little past one.
"Can't you be a little more flexible?"
The old gatekeeper pointed outside and said, pointing to the security camera at the main gate.
"Brother, I'm just an employee. The security cameras are watching the main road; I can't let anyone through."
Li Wei scratched his head. He didn't have an ID card. If he got caught, would he be deported? Wouldn't that make it even harder for him to cause trouble?
Or he could just slaughter a bunch of nobody and send them back to a new world, but before that, Li Wei planned to check the data first to see how common gas explosions were.
"Hey bro, can I borrow your phone for a second? Mine's dead."
"Can."
"I don't know Japanese characters, could you please translate this into Chinese for me? Thank you."
The old man paused for a moment, looked Li Wei up and down, peeked out from outside the guardhouse, and after confirming that no one was around, asked in a low voice.
"Are you an agent from the Great Hua Kingdom investigating paranormal phenomena here?"
Li Wei blinked. Goodness, this school is no ordinary school. It's like a pillow being delivered just when you're sleepy. The main quest is here right now.
Li Wei answered without hesitation.
"No, I'm just an undocumented illegal immigrant, but I can be one if necessary."
I understand.
The old man hesitated for a moment, then pulled out a document on his phone and handed it to Li Wei.
Li Wei took the phone, glanced at it, and then returned it.
"Didn't I already say I can't read Japanese?"
The old man breathed a sigh of relief.
"Now I'm sure you really don't understand Japanese. Do you have any other ways to prove your identity?"
Wow, they're quite secretive. Is this what a security guard should do?
Li Wei reached into the back of his coat and pulled out a pistol from the back of his anime-style chrysanthemum, showing half of it to the gatekeeper.
Since guns are prohibited in Japan, seeing the old man with the gun was a relief, confirming that Li Wei's identity was not simple.
"Are you leaving because you couldn't find anything? This place starts acting strangely at night. You can stay here for now."
As he spoke, he pulled out an identity card.
"When you meet someone, just say you're a distant relative of mine and ask them to help this old man with limited mobility by watching over the school for a few days."
Li Wei took the identity token and asked in return.
Why did you help me?
"Enough people have died in the last few decades. It's good to stir things up a bit, and it would be best if it escalated."
Li Wei looked at the old man with some surprise; it was clear that he was no ordinary person.
"And who are you?"
The old man sighed.
"I am a member of the local shrine, while this is the resurgent Ecliptic sect. They have people in the government, so we can't do anything big."
The name sounded somewhat familiar to Li Wei, but he couldn't quite place it; however, it didn't matter.
Li Wei had no idea where he was; all he knew was that he was about to go on a killing spree.
He asked for a list without even asking.
"Do you have a list?"
"A list? What do you need a list for?"
"I just need the list."
The old man wasn't stupid; he immediately gasped in shock. Was this still a society governed by law? How could there be such a ruthless person?
"No, don't alert them. It'll be troublesome if the police come. Besides, didn't I tell you, they have people in their ranks?"
I don't know how many students have been brainwashed and joined them.
However, I know a few people who want to arrest people.
The old man gritted his teeth.
"I'll take you there tonight."
Li Wei raised an eyebrow at the old man, and nodded nonetheless.
"Alright, but what's your name?"
"Just call me Lao Wang, that's what everyone calls me."
Li Wei was stunned for a moment.
"A good name."
We waited until nightfall, then followed Lao Wang with a flashlight to the faculty building.
"We've confirmed it. Principal Shinichiro Umekawa and that woman, the Dean of Students, are both insane. The teachers' dormitory is on the third floor, and the principal's office is on the fourth floor. I'll keep watch for you. Pay attention to the phone number I give you."
"Arrest them and interrogate them, but don't make too much of a scene. Just tell everyone they're my nephews. Never mind, you're the professional, I won't say any more."
Li Wei grinned.
"Don't worry, I'm very professional."
Stepping onto the first floor, I pulled out my gun as soon as I closed the door, only to find that the iron doors leading to the second floor were closed.
Li Wei didn't plan on playing any key-finding game. He took out a silencer, attached it to the gun, and fired two shots at the lock, rendering it unusable.
The slight sound of a door closing behind him made Li Wei pause in pulling the iron gate.
He turned around, found the door, aimed at the lock, and fired a shot.
Pushing open the door, I found a pink-haired little girl crouching under the desk, her head in her hands, looking defensive.
He's dressed quite fashionably, not threatening at all, but looks like he'd cry for a long time if I punched him.
Li Wei put the gun away and asked a question out of curiosity.
"What are middle school students doing here?"
It seemed that something had been done to the pink-haired little girl, who was already angrily yelling at Li Wei before she even crawled out.
"I'm a college student! I'll still grow taller."
"No, if you don't explain why you're here, you probably won't have a future."
Once she stood up straight and could clearly see Li Wei's face, the little girl asked in a low, surprised voice.
"It's you, from that abandoned building."
