Chapter 468 is so damn cool!
Chapter 468 is so damn cool!
"You mean... taking advantage of someone's misfortune?"
Marcus nodded.
"Yes. They specifically target lone players from the Western Territory. They avoid those from the Eastern Territory. And they avoid Lin Tian even more."
He looked at the figure in the distance.
"Once this big shot leaves, we can continue developing. There are two overlapping periods in the second round, so there will be plenty of opportunities."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Vincent pushed up glasses that weren't actually there—a habitual gesture of his.
"The president is wise."
......
In the center of the battlefield.
Zhang Tianya looked at Lin Tian walking back, and the expression on his face was quite interesting.
"Brother Lin, Brother Lin Tian," he stammered, "that move you just made..."
Lin Tian glanced at him.
"What's wrong?"
Zhang Tianya swallowed hard.
"Nothing much, it's just... he's fucking handsome!"
Li Weiwei rolled her eyes at him, but her eyes were also filled with shock.
Celia leaned on Lin Tian's shoulder and said with a grin, "Brother Tian is always like this, I'm used to it."
Little White wrapped itself around Lin Tian's arm and yawned.
Lin Tian looked at Zhang Tianya.
"What are your plans next?"
Zhang Tianya paused for a moment, then said.
"What else can we do? Take advantage of the buff you gave us and kill a few more people from the Western Regions."
Li Weiwei nodded.
"A 60% boost, such opportunities are rare."
Lin Tian hummed in agreement.
"Then let's go."
He paused, then continued.
"Call me if you get into trouble."
Zhang Tianya's eyes lit up.
"I'm relieved to hear that!"
He turned around, and the members of the Chaos Alliance waved to him.
"Brothers! Charge with me! Take advantage of the buffs and rack up as many points as possible!"
"Charge!!!"
The members of the alliance roared and charged onto the battlefield.
Li Weiwei and her Blood Romance sisters followed.
Lin Tian stood still, watching them charge into the battlefield.
Celia asked softly, "Brother Tian, aren't we going to help?"
Lin Tian shook his head.
"Need not."
He watched Zhang Tianya's retreating figure, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"That guy is stronger than you think."
Celia asked curiously, "Is Brother Tianya very strong?"
Lin Tian did not answer.
He simply watched Zhang Tianya charge into the enemy ranks, watched his shield deflect attacks from left and right through the crowd, watched him emerge unscathed despite being surrounded by more than a dozen people, and watched him unleash defensive capabilities far exceeding those of an S-rank at crucial moments.
Then he looked away.
"Let's go."
Celia asked, "Where to?"
Lin Tian looked into the distance.
There were several other teams observing from the sidelines.
Go say hello.
He took to the air.
Behind them, the sounds of battle still echoed through the air.
But wherever that figure passed, everyone instinctively made way.
The first overlap period is fifteen minutes away.
......
In the center of the battlefield, smoke and fire filled the air.
After Lin Tian left, the brief silence caused by the theft of the giant statue was quickly broken by even more frenzied fighting.
Players from the Eastern Realm receive a 60% buff, making them unstoppable.
Although the morale of the Western players was low, the lure of double points and the possibility of dropping equipment made many of them greedy—killing one person from the Eastern region was equivalent to killing two at other times.
If a good piece of equipment drops, this would be a huge win.
The two sides were locked in a fierce struggle on the plain at the border, with white light rising every second.
The western edge, the position of the Imperial Wall.
Marcus stood on a protruding rock, arms crossed over his chest, his blue eyes fixed on the battlefield.
His expression was calm, but the slight furrow in his brow betrayed that he was thinking about something important.
Catherine stood beside him, unconsciously twirling the long whip in her hand.
She glanced at the battlefield, then at Marcus, hesitant to speak.
Jack crouched behind him, his honest face full of confusion.
He scratched his bald head and whispered to Isabella beside him, "What's the boss thinking? When are we going to make our move?"
Isabella gave him a cold look.
"Wait."
Jack shrank back, not daring to ask any more questions.
Roderick lay prone behind a rock, scanning the battlefield with [Tracking Lock].
His gaze would occasionally sweep over the figures of the Eastern Realm players in the distance, but each time it fell on that direction, he would subconsciously avoid it.
Vincent emerged from the shadows and walked to Marcus's side.
"President."
Marcus did not turn around.
"explain."
Vincent handed over a simple hand-drawn map with several locations marked on it.
"Sato's men are still on the western edge, they haven't moved. Their men have spread out, they seem to be looking for something."
Marcus took the map, glanced at it, and a cold smile curled at the corner of his mouth.
"Looking for me?"
Vincent shook his head.
"It doesn't seem like they're looking for us. Their eyes are fixed on the center of the battlefield, or more precisely, on the direction Lin Tian left in."
Marcus raised an eyebrow.
"That guy still hasn't given up?"
Vincent didn't answer, but his expression said it all.
Catherine couldn't help but speak up.
"Marcus, what are our plans? Are we just going to keep watching?"
Marcus remained silent for a few seconds.
Then he turned around and faced the crowd.
"I have a question I'd like to ask you."
Everyone looked at each other.
Marcus looked at Catherine.
"What do you think of Lin Tian?"
Catherine paused for a moment, then frowned.
"Strong. Incredibly strong. So strong it doesn't seem like a player's skill."
Marcus nodded and then looked at Jack.
"Jack, what about you?"
Jack scratched his head and said honestly, "Boss, I don't think we can beat him. That one move wiped out hundreds of people. Our four hundred men will probably only last for him to use his skill twice."
Marcus then looked at Isabella.
Isabella said coldly, "They're not on the same level. At this stage, any plan targeting him is suicidal."
Roderick nodded in agreement.
Marcus finally looked at Vincent.
Vincent pushed up his non-existent glasses and slowly began to speak.
"President, you already have the answer in your heart, don't you?"
Marcus laughed.
The smile was complex, containing bitterness, self-deprecation, but also a hint of relief.
"Yes. I have the answer."
He looked at the crowd.
"My previous plan—to wait until Sato and Lin Tian were both severely injured, and then we would clean up the mess—now seems like a joke."
He paused.
"Lin Tian would never engage in a 'mutually assured destruction' with anyone. He fought Sato like we fight level 20 monsters, crushing him completely."
Catherine frowned: "So we're just going to let it go like this? We're the Imperial Wall!"
Marcus shook his head.
He looked into the distance, in the direction where Lin Tian had disappeared.
"Once this big shot leaves, we can continue developing. There are two overlapping periods in the second round, so there will be plenty of opportunities."
Catherine seemed to be deep in thought.
"You mean, we should completely abandon our targeting of Lin Tian?"
